GUIDED HANDOFF

Use Gemini Notebook

StudyStride prepares a reviewed source set and guides you through adding it to a consumer Gemini Notebook. You—not StudyStride—create the notebook, upload sources, and choose sharing.

Complete the summary workflow first

The Prepare files for Gemini Notebook button becomes available after you:

  1. Generate the session AI summary.
  2. Review and approve it.
  3. Add the approved summary to the selected session Google Doc.

Audio and visual sources are available only when their retention options were enabled before capture and the evidence completed successfully.

Step 1: Review this session’s sources

  1. Open the approved summary Google Doc and verify it.

  2. Download the Markdown copy if you want a portable summary file.

  3. Download the verbatim transcript TXT and create or open its separate Drive document.

  4. Review every retained browser image. Exclude or delete inappropriate frames, then prepare and download the Capture Report PDF.

  5. Preview retained microphone and processed audio. Download the Notebook-ready WAV if audio belongs in the notebook.

Continue only after the sources accurately represent the session and contain no material that should remain private.

Step 2: Open or create the Gemini Notebook

  1. Choose Open Gemini Notebook. Google opens in your account.

  2. Create a new notebook or open an existing notebook appropriate for this session.

  3. Copy the notebook’s specific URL and paste it into the Gemini Notebook URL field in StudyStride.

  4. Confirm the URL. StudyStride retains it as the session destination so you can reopen the notebook later.

Use a specific notebook URL. A general Notebook home page is not enough. The URL must identify the notebook you created or selected.

Step 3: Manually add the session files

Return to the notebook and add the reviewed sources using Google’s source controls:

Use StudyStride’s re-download actions if the local PDF or WAV is no longer available. Confirm the checklist only after you have performed the corresponding action in Google.

Step 4: Review sharing and finish

  1. Open the notebook’s sharing settings in Google.

  2. Confirm who can access the notebook and whether each source is appropriate for that audience.

  3. Return to StudyStride and complete the final checklist.

  4. Finish the wizard. The notebook URL remains linked to the session for convenient reopening.

For a continuing course, project, or research log, you can select the same Google Doc in future StudyStride sessions and refresh that Drive source in the notebook after approved material is appended.

Understand the handoff boundary

Consumer Gemini Notebook does not provide StudyStride an API for creating notebooks or inspecting their sources. StudyStride therefore:

Check the notebook yourself. Open each imported source and inspect the final sharing state before relying on or distributing the notebook.
