SESSION ARTIFACTS
Prepare files and exports
StudyStride keeps original evidence, generated material, and exported copies distinct. Review each artifact and choose only the files you need.
Know what each artifact represents
| Artifact | Contents | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Verbatim transcript | Timestamped complete transcription from the captured audio. | TXT download; optional separate private Google Doc. |
| Retained images | Locally saved key browser states with capture time, title, and source URL. | Chrome-local storage until downloaded, deleted, or the session is removed. |
| Capture Report PDF | Selected images with the matched verbatim transcript directly below each image. No AI image summary is inserted. | Local download and a private StudyStride folder in Google Drive. |
| Microphone input WAV | The direct captured microphone stream before StudyStride conditioning. | Chrome-local evidence and a private StudyStride Audio folder backup when retained. |
| Transcription input WAV | The processed 16 kHz audio used for complete transcription. | Chrome-local evidence only when Keep audio was selected. |
| Optional AI summary | A reviewed, structured synthesis generated only after you request it. | StudyStride draft; optional Markdown download and session Google Doc append. |
| Notebook WAV | A deterministic 16 kHz mono file prepared for manual notebook upload when audio was retained. | Downloaded to your computer when requested. |
Use the optional AI summary and Markdown copy
The summary is the editable synthesis, not the verbatim record. Review and approve it before choosing Add summary to Google Doc. Choose Download summary for a portable Markdown file.
- Use the Google Doc for a continuing private learning log, class record, or session deliverable.
- Use Markdown when you need a local copy or want to move the reviewed text into another system.
- Keep the transcript available when readers need to verify what was actually said.
Download or publish the transcript
Open the file-preparation workflow after capture review. An optional AI summary is not required to understand or download the transcript.
Stay on the Review step.
Under the transcript source, choose Download TXT for the timestamped local file.
Use the transcript publication action to create its separate private Google Doc. After creation, choose Open Drive transcript to inspect it.
Review retained browser images
If Keep key screenshots was enabled, the Review step lists each saved image with its page title, time, and source. Automatic change detection operates locally; a visual description exists only when an optional AI operation requested one.
Inspect every image for unrelated tabs, personal information, student information, private messages, or other material that should not be shared.
Leave an image selected to include it in the PDF, or exclude it while keeping the local source available.
Choose Download image to save an original JPEG you need separately.
Choose Delete local image to remove a frame from the browser. Deletion invalidates any previously prepared PDF so the PDF cannot silently retain the deleted selection.
Prepare the Capture Report PDF
Leave at least one appropriate retained image selected.
Choose Prepare capture report. Preparation runs in the background so the extension remains usable.
When preparation completes, choose Download PDF and open it locally.
Choose Open Drive PDF to inspect the private Drive copy in the StudyStride Capture Reports folder.
Confirm image order, time ranges, and matched verbatim transcript before sharing. The report deliberately contains no AI image summary. Regenerate after changing image selections.
The PDF is especially useful when browser context and spoken reasoning belong together: code reviews, source critiques, workflow documentation, oral assignments, demonstrations, and training reviews.
Review and prepare audio
When audio retention was enabled, StudyStride exposes the direct microphone input and processed transcription input separately. When it was off, StudyStride deletes temporary audio after transcription and no audio controls appear.
- Download microphone input saves the direct captured stream.
- Download transcription input saves the processed transcription stream.
- Open Drive backup opens the private original-audio backup when available.
- Download WAV for Gemini Notebook prepares a compatible 16 kHz mono source file.
- Delete local copy removes retained audio from Chrome after confirmation; it does not delete an existing Drive backup.
