Review the capture and optional AI output

Wait for complete transcription to finish

After you choose Stop & review, StudyStride closes the recording, transcribes the complete audio in overlapping sections, removes duplicate phrases at section boundaries, and verifies capture integrity. It prepares candidate questions only when you selected that option before capture. The status may change to Processing.

Do not close the workflow while it is finalizing. If generation takes longer than expected, StudyStride checks for a saved result and keeps the underlying capture safe.

Prepare and verify the capture report

1. Choose Prepare capture report. StudyStride uses each screenshot timestamp and the following screenshot timestamp to define the view’s time range.

2. Timestamped transcript phrases that overlap that range are placed directly below the screenshot. This matching is deterministic; it is not an AI summary.

3. Choose Download capture report when preparation completes.

4. Inspect the first and last words under every image. A sentence spoken during a visual transition may appear with the view whose time interval contains most of that phrase.

5. If a necessary image is absent, continue capturing and use Capture current view while that state is visible. If an image is inappropriate, remove it before preparing a replacement report.

Review candidate questions privately

This section appears only when Generate questions after capture was selected. It begins with a short AI interpretation and up to the selected question limit. Each candidate shows its purpose and confidence. Confidence is an AI signal, not a correctness score.

If StudyStride intentionally proposes no questions, it shows the recorded reason rather than fabricating a prompt. Leave the optional question switch off when you want capture and transcription only.

Generate an optional AI summary

1. Choose Generate optional AI summary from private review. This is a separate request after the capture report is available.

2. Wait for the draft. The capture remains saved while the model is processing and the extension can recover a completed saved result.

3. Review the title, overview, objectives, key concepts, examples, misconceptions, discussion questions, practice prompts, and open questions that are present.

4. Compare important claims with the original transcript and browser evidence. A fluent summary can still omit context or misunderstand a statement.

Inspect AI generation details

Open AI generation details beneath the summary. StudyStride displays persisted run information such as the run ID, model, instruction version, and evidence-event count.

This is traceability evidence: it demonstrates which recorded AI execution produced the artifact and how it links to the session. It is not proof that every generated statement is correct. Human review remains required.

Edit, approve, or discard the summary

1. Choose Edit summary to open the structured fields.

2. Correct transcription-derived mistakes, remove unsupported language, clarify examples, and preserve distinctions that matter to your audience.

3. Choose Save revisions. The revision changes the wording while the original session evidence remains attached.

4. Choose Approve summary only after completing your review. Approval enables downstream publishing; it does not publish automatically.

Use Discard summary when the draft should not be retained. Use Return to capture if more evidence is needed before composing another output.

Add the approved summary to its Google Doc

1. After approval, choose Add summary to Google Doc.

2. Complete Google’s consent prompt if needed. StudyStride requests access to files you explicitly create or select and does not store the short-lived access token.

3. Wait for the append to complete. The button changes to Open Google Doc.

4. Open the document and confirm the new material is correct. Repeating the append does not intentionally create a duplicate copy of the same approved artifact.
